Quick Tip Tuesday: How to Manage Your Envelope

DocuSign helps you manage the many documents you send out for signature. To get started, click the Manage at the top of your screen to check the status of documents sent for signature.


The menu on the left helps you instantly organizes your workflow and allows you to check the status of pending, completed documents, and even deleted envelopes. The search box also lets you quickly search for envelope types.

Here is a breakdown for how to manage the different envelope statuses. Under Search Folders select the status option for the envelopes you want to see and a list of those envelopes is shown. 

Pending Documents

  • Click Out for Signature on the left-hand menu to view all unsigned documents
  • Click on a specific envelope to learn more details, which are found in the Summary tab at the bottom of your screen

  •  To see the progress of the signatures and tags, simply click the Document tab in the middle of the screen. This will open an embedded version of the envelope documents for you to view.

Actions for Individual Envelopes

With the Actions drop down menu at the top right corner, you’ll have full control over your envelopes and documents. 

Just select the envelope you want to take action on and click the Actions drop down menu.  Here are some options to keep your workflow on track.

  • Resend – This action lets you send the envelope to a recipient again without having to create a new one. For example, if your recipient deleted an email without accessing the envelope, you could just resend it.
  • Void ­This action cancels the envelope and marks it as voided.

Auditing your Envelopes

  • For each envelope status, you’ll have the full history at your fingertips.
  • To learn about the envelope history select the envelope, click the Actions drop down menu and select History. 

With DocuSign envelope management, you have a built-in organizer and tracker to ensure a clean, transparent, and successful workflow.
